“My forecast on the development of Educational Technology twenty years from now”

I was watching iron man II in the cable channel 39, while composing the second reflection I was amazed how it was filmed. The technology was beyond the technology that we have at the moment.  But the technology presented in that movie is for the states defense. But what if that technology was used in the education system, like how Mr. Tony Stark studied his project for his mechanically engineered robots. Like the super high tech mainframe computers. I think the development and the learning processes of the students become more effective than ever.

Developers and inventors are still doing their jobs to make our lives easy.  Almost every month there are changes in features in gadgets like computers, cellular phones and appliances, all aim to make the best out of our work.  Not to mention the changes in educational technology which some of the countries are now using it, like Singapore, China, Korea, Japan and the United States of America. But little by little our country is taking its steps in appreciating the advancement of technology in our educational systems.  I heard Dela Salle University is now into the use of E-tablet in which all the subjects, books and exercises was actually downloaded in the student’s E-tablets. Now learning is easy, the student’s doesn’t need to carry heavy bags full loaded of books and notebooks every day. Now, the interaction of teachers and students is now up to date.

Twenty years from now I think there will be huge changes or development in the process of educating our students. Because the price of the computer is now getting cheaper, I can say that by that time every household has a computer and all are inter connected to the World Wide Web. And it only means one thing the search for information is readily available any time. And I can say twenty years from now student’s can attend their class even when they are sick and vise versa teachers can also teach  via computer using the video conferencing.

Twenty years from now, the educational technology can achieved its maximum strength in the teaching and learning processes for both teachers and students. I think by that time, we can have a special device or gadget that can be use to work on our assignments even when we are out of the school or house. It could be a watch that has a build in computer which has a holographic features that able us to access teacher’s computer for the posting and checking of assignments and also have this feature to connect to the World Wide Web. By that time I guess we can achieve our aim to make our students become globally competitive in all aspects of expertise.
